The future of blogging

Hey readers,

So recently, I was having a conversation with another blogger and we were talking about blogging and our future. Isn't it weird that we are always planning about our future yet we have absolutely no idea what the future holds for us?

In fact, prior to writing this post, I did not even think about what will happen to my blog in the future. But as I am writing this, I still don't have an answer to it. I don't know if I'll keep blogging, I don't know if I'll become too busy or have any other reason to quit blogging. The future is unknown which is probably why I haven't given it much thought but all I know is that I love blogging.

I have been blogging for four years now and I can't complain. I love how other bloggers are so kind and always ready to help you out. I love meeting other people who share the same interest as me or even meet people with new interests who fascinates me. Like I said in my other posts, you don't see much hate between bloggers and instead you see a lot of bonding, sharing, caring and understanding and more. I can call myself a blogger and be proud of it. This is just an amazing feeling.

I may not know anything about my future, but I know that at this very moment, I am writing this post and have a few ideas for my next posts too and I will keep blogging until I can because I love being part of the blogosphere. Blogging is now a part of me and I don't ever want to quit it.

This is really just a little appreciation message to myself to remind me that the future might be unknown, but the present is not and so I should appreciate the greats things now that can lead towards more happiness in the future or simply appreciate it before it goes away.

Let's talk!

What do you think about blogging? Do you have any idea what will happen to your blog in the future? Do you think you'll keep blogging?

  1. Good for you! I've been blogging for a decade now and seen people come and go. A blog is merely an opportunity and people use it for different reasons. Many who start blogging for dumb reasons (e.g., to get rich or famous) stop when they realize that won't happen. I blog to write a biography of my life and to stimulate me to create art projects. Neither goal will diminish in the future so I plan on blogging forever. If one loves blogging (as you do), then pursue it for as long as it gives you pleasure.

    1. Ahh, I feel like blogging for money won't bring you that far. I mean it is probably good for a professional full time blogger who puts all their time into blogging. I just love to blog part time and for fun. I saw so many great blogs and sometimes they stop blogging and I just feel bad because I wonder what made them stop. That's awesome. Sharing your life and projects is great! Oh, I will. :) Thanks! :D

  2. Fabulous post and blogging has always been a hit or miss for me depending on where I am in life. I have periods where I don’t blog for weeks on end and then I will post everyday for a few weeks. It’s fun and I never let it become work.

    1. You should be able to blog whenever you want! Blogging should be a choice and not a responsibility. :) It's great that you don't let it become your work because that would really suck. I am glad you enjoy it :D

  5. Do you know what are the top 5 places to travel once the COVID19 is over?

If your thought was to search on google, then blogging is not going away anywhere. It is estimated that google search 2 Trillion searches each day. This has substantially increased in the last couple of years and it just keeps increasing.

Although, what's changing is the average attention span of readers. Recent survey indicates that the attention span of general audience is only 8 Seconds. Thanks to all the micro blogging platforms such as instagram and TikTok. That again doesn't mean the end of blogging but an emphasis towards creating dynamic content is very important. Such as adding graphics, videos on the blog.
Technology might change but the need for blogging will always be there.
Another aspect that has changed over a period of time is the returning users to our blogs. There was a time where people ran generic content websites that have whole lot of and variety of blogs in one place. It was a successful practice at one time considering that there was less content online.
Now people are generally looking for very specific content. The audiences seem to rely more on the blog when it shares specific knowledge of a subject. It just proves to them that the person blogging is most likely a subject matter expertise.
Considering how often google is updating their algorithm it is critically important to stay updated on what's happening to be able to write better content be visible enough so that people can find you.

Blogging community has been such a great experience that more than blogging itself, I just love being a part of it. There are so many people who have shared their expert knowledge without asking for much in return or feeling threatened about a possible competition.
You are right, I feel proud to call myself a blogger too. I just love the sound of it.

Note: I am commenting on this one, 2 years later - We are still here and we shall get there. One small step each day.

    1. Nope I don't! But being able to travel anywhere would be amazing.

I never really thought of this but now that I do, you are right! That actually makes me feel even prouder that blogging isn't that popular and yet I came across so many amazing bloggers. I feel proud!

Yep. This is an awesome experience. I sure hope we will be commenting on each other's posts for as long as we are able to. :D

      Thanks, Nadeem!
